Introduction

The 7th Baltic Sea Science Congress took place on August 17-21, 2009 at the premises of Tallinn University of Technology. The participants may download the group photo and pictures from the opening session here.

The Tallinn Declaration was adapted by the participants of the BSSC 2009.

The next BSSC will be held in St. Petersburg in July 2011.

Publication

Selected papers of the 7th Baltic Sea Science Congress will be published in a special issue of the journal Boreal Environment Research. Manuscripts of papers must be sent in PDF format along with completed submission forms directly to the Managing editor of BER Dr. Krzysztof Raciborski (please follow the instructions given at their web site http://www.borenv.net/). The text 'Baltic Sea Science Congress paper' should be placed in the subject of the message to which the files are attached and on the first page of the manuscript the subject group (Atmosphere and climate, Fisheries and aquaculture, Hydrobiology) to which it belongs should be identified. The manuscripts must be submitted by 20 November 2009 at the latest.
